The OverPower booth #4323 was a constant hub of activity throughout the NYCC weekend. Fans from all generations of the game, from 90s veterans to newcomers discovering OverPower for the first time, stopped by to meet the team, check out the newest cards, and take part in live demo sessions. The LRG team led dozens of demos each day, walking attendees through gameplay basics and showcasing new mechanics from the upcoming expansions.
Panel: “OverPower Rising: Bringing Skybound, Top Cow and Edgar Rice Burroughs to CCGs”
On Friday, October 10 at 2:45 pm in Hall 1E (Community Stage), OverPower hosted a panel panel entitled “OverPower Rising: Bringing Skybound, Top Cow and Edgar Rice Burroughs to CCGs.” The lineup included incredible artists such as Adam Kubert, Don Aguillo, and Serg Acuña, who discussed the role of comic art in OverPower and teased upcoming sets.
Attendees of the panel were rewarded with a special Invincible CCG promo card featuring artwork by Phillip Tan. In addition, a few lucky fans received autographed cards as giveaways.
During the session, fans were treated to an exclusive first look at more than 20 pieces of original artwork from the upcoming Skybound set. The reveal showcased the diverse and dynamic artistic styles that will define this next chapter of the OverPower card game, featuring bold reinterpretations of iconic Skybound characters and new visuals from celebrated illustrators across the comic industry.
